Monetization Gateway beta: charge AI agents for consumption with HTTP 402
TL;DR
Cloudflare has launched a Monetization Gateway beta, allowing AI agents to be charged for access to tokens, APIs, and tools. U.S. sellers can now apply for this closed beta.
✦ Why It Matters
Apply for the closed beta to start monetizing your AI applications today.
Key Takeaways
- Explore the Monetization Gateway for charging AI agents.
- Implement per-use pricing to align with agent consumption.
- Utilize HTTP 402 for seamless payment integration.
- Reduce user drop-off by eliminating API key requirements.
How It Works
The Monetization Gateway uses the HTTP 402 status code to allow buyers to pay for resources directly within their requests. Sellers can set payment conditions and costs, enabling a streamlined transaction process without redirects to checkout pages.
