Show HN: Certo – An open source platform to deliver Open Badges
TL;DR
Certo is an open-source platform that enables organizations to issue and manage digital credentials, such as badges and certificates, based on the Open Badges 3.0 specification. It streamlines the process of recognizing achievements in educational and professional settings.
✦ Why It Matters
Start using Certo today to enhance your organization's credentialing process with verifiable digital badges.
Key Takeaways
- Implement Certo to issue digital credentials for your programs.
- Utilize batch issuance to streamline credential distribution.
- Leverage cryptographic verification for credential authenticity.
- Integrate with LinkedIn to enhance credential visibility.
How It Works
Certo allows issuers to create badge templates that define the achievement criteria and associated skills. Once templates are established, credentials can be issued to recipients either individually or in bulk using CSV uploads.
The platform employs cryptographic methods to ensure that all issued credentials are tamper-evident and can be verified publicly, enhancing trust in the credentialing process.
