Initial Release of Union QtWidgets
TL;DR
The initial release of Union QtWidgets allows applications like Dolphin and KMail to utilize Union CSS files for styling. However, users should expect visual bugs and inconsistencies.
✦ Why It Matters
Explore Union QtWidgets today to enhance the styling of your Qt applications, keeping in mind the current visual bugs.
Key Takeaways
- Test Union CSS files in your applications for new styling options.
- Report any visual bugs to help improve the release.
- Explore creating custom CSS files for unique themes.
- Stay updated for fixes in the upcoming Plasma 6.8 release.
How It Works
Union QtWidgets utilizes a new QStyle built from QCommonStyle, allowing it to interpret CSS for styling. This involves a hierarchy system that reads CSS data and applies it to the QStyle elements, ensuring that applications can maintain their expected layouts while adopting new styles.
