I Think the Military Commissary's Freezers Were Hacked
TL;DR
Multiple military installations have reported simultaneous refrigeration failures, raising concerns about a potential cyber attack on commissary freezers.
✦ Why It Matters
Evaluate your organization's refrigeration and cybersecurity protocols to prevent similar vulnerabilities.
Key Takeaways
- Investigate the cybersecurity of your refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Stay informed about vulnerabilities in industrial control systems.
- Consider implementing remote monitoring with robust security measures.
- Engage in discussions about cybersecurity in critical infrastructure.
How It Works
DeCA's refrigeration systems are controlled through a Remote Monitoring Control System (RMCS), allowing centralized management. This system can potentially be accessed remotely, which raises concerns about unauthorized manipulation of refrigeration settings.
