My DIY DEF CON Choker Has a Screen On It
TL;DR
A custom choker with a screen and LED strips was created for DEF CON to encourage social interaction. The project emphasized aesthetics alongside functionality, marking a departure from typical design priorities.
✦ Why It Matters
Consider integrating aesthetic design into your next tech project to enhance user engagement.
Key Takeaways
- Select high-quality displays for aesthetic projects.
- Use embedded Rust for efficient firmware development.
- Design PCBs with careful consideration of component placement.
- Explore interactive features to enhance user engagement.
How It Works
The choker's touchscreen is driven by an RP2350 microcontroller, which manages display output and user interactions. Real-time animations are generated in embedded Rust, allowing users to draw on the screen and control LED brightness.
