Show HN: I was tired of opening 2 tabs for every HN link, so I made a userscript
TL;DR
A new userscript called HNewhere enhances the browsing experience on Hacker News by automatically detecting related discussions and loading them in a sidebar. This allows users to engage with comments without navigating away from the original article.
✦ Why It Matters
Install HNewhere today to enhance your Hacker News browsing experience and save time.
Key Takeaways
- Install a userscript manager like Tampermonkey or Violentmonkey.
- Use HNewhere to view Hacker News comments without leaving the article.
- Resize and collapse the sidebar for a customized viewing experience.
- Track your engagement with links opened from Hacker News.
How It Works
HNewhere utilizes the Hacker News API to automatically detect stories related to the article being viewed. When a matching story is found, it fetches the comments and displays them in a sidebar, allowing users to read and interact with discussions without navigating away from the main content.
