TL;DR
Jellyfin 12.0 introduces significant improvements, including a revamped database schema and enhanced support for books and comics, building on the foundation laid in version 10.11.
✦ Why It Matters
Backup your data before upgrading to Jellyfin 12.0 to avoid potential issues.
Key Takeaways
- Backup your data before upgrading to Jellyfin 12.0.
- Perform a full library scan after the upgrade.
- Check for username conflicts due to case insensitivity.
- Remove third-party plugins before upgrading to ensure compatibility.
How It Works
Jellyfin 12.0 enhances database performance by storing each item in playlists and collections as individual rows. This allows for quicker access and modifications, as the database can now count items and edit them without needing to load the entire list.
