Electric shock gloves in use by police departments in Bellevue, Omaha
TL;DR
Omaha Police Department has begun using electric shock gloves, known as The GLOVE, to help deescalate potentially violent situations in schools. This non-lethal technology aims to provide officers with an additional option for managing confrontations safely.
✦ Why It Matters
Consider evaluating non-lethal options like The GLOVE for your own security or law enforcement practices.
Key Takeaways
- Explore non-lethal alternatives for law enforcement
- Review use-of-force policies for compliance
- Train officers on new technologies
- Assess the effectiveness of deescalation tools
How It Works
The gloves deliver low-voltage electrical pulses directly to the skin, causing pain compliance without circulating electricity through the body, reducing injury risk.
