Cursor launches Origin, GitHub alternative
TL;DR
Cursor has launched Origin, a new GitHub alternative that allows users to host their code with features like real-time syncing and pull requests. Currently in early beta, it integrates seamlessly with existing GitHub repositories.
✦ Why It Matters
Start using Origin today to centralize your code management and enhance collaboration with real-time syncing.
Key Takeaways
- Create and manage repositories directly in Origin.
- Sync existing GitHub repositories for seamless collaboration.
- Utilize integrations with Vercel and CI tools for deployment.
- Leverage real-time updates for pull requests across platforms.
How It Works
Users can create a new repository in Origin, which generates a unique URL for easy access. The platform allows for real-time synchronization with GitHub, meaning any changes made in either system are reflected instantly.
Pull requests can be managed from either platform, enabling comments and reviews to flow seamlessly between Cursor and GitHub.
