Full Summary
Defrag98 is an online simulator that mimics the Windows 98 Disk Defragmenter, a tool used to reorganize fragmented data on hard drives for improved performance. Users can select from four virtual drives, ranging from 512 MB to 2 GB, and experience the nostalgic sounds of a hard disk while watching the defragmentation process in real time.
The simulator visually represents fragmented data as colored clusters that rearrange into contiguous blocks, enhancing the nostalgic experience. It operates entirely within a web browser and can be installed as a web app for offline use.
Importantly, Defrag98 does not access or modify any actual files on the user's device, ensuring a safe and purely nostalgic experience.
