Union: Summer 2026 Update
TL;DR
Union, a new style engine for Qt and KDE applications, has been updated to allow users to test its functionality with Plasma 6.7. The update includes a proxy style for widget applications and a new style selection page for easier customization.
✦ Why It Matters
Test Union with your applications in Plasma 6.7 to provide feedback and improve its development.
Key Takeaways
- Try Union in Plasma 6.7 to test new styling features.
- Provide feedback on any bugs encountered while using Union.
- Explore the new System Settings page for style selection.
- Consider contributing to Union's development via its repository.
How It Works
Union operates by allowing users to select styles through a new System Settings page, which identifies and associates metadata with styles. This overhaul simplifies the core style loading process and ensures that styles are defined in a way that reduces code complexity and enhances compatibility.
