ZuckOff Is a Free App That Sees Meta Glasses Before They See You
TL;DR
ZuckOff is a free app that detects nearby Meta smart glasses by identifying their unique Bluetooth signals, addressing privacy concerns over unsolicited filming. In its first month, it gained over 5,000 downloads on the Apple App Store.
✦ Why It Matters
Download ZuckOff to protect your privacy from potential unsolicited recording in public spaces.
Key Takeaways
- Download ZuckOff to detect nearby smart glasses.
- Understand the privacy implications of smart glasses in public.
- Stay informed about updates from Meta regarding privacy features.
- Consider advocating for stronger privacy regulations in your area.
How It Works
ZuckOff operates by scanning for Bluetooth signals emitted by smart glasses, creating a unique digital fingerprint for each model. When a signal matches a known identifier, the app alerts the user to the presence of those glasses nearby.
