UK households free to install plug-in balcony solar panels from end of August
TL;DR
Starting August 27, UK households can install plug-in balcony solar panels, allowing residents without rooftop access to generate their own electricity. This legal change enables major retailers to sell these DIY solar setups for the first time.
✦ Why It Matters
Consider purchasing plug-in solar panels to start generating your own electricity from your balcony.
Key Takeaways
- Explore options for plug-in solar panels available from major UK retailers.
- Calculate potential savings of £70-110 on energy bills annually.
- Check if your outdoor space is suitable for solar panel installation.
- Stay informed about future developments in plug-in battery technology.
How It Works
Plug-in balcony solar panels generate electricity when sunlight hits them, which flows directly into a household's electrical circuit through a standard three-prong plug. This allows users to power appliances with solar energy, reducing the amount of electricity purchased from the grid.
