Disconnect your LG television from the internet, now
TL;DR
LG televisions have been found to compromise user privacy by logging viewing habits and eavesdropping on conversations. Users are advised to disconnect their LG TVs from the internet to protect their data.
✦ Why It Matters
Disconnect your LG television from the internet to protect your privacy today.
Key Takeaways
- Unplug Ethernet and disable Wi-Fi on your LG TV.
- Monitor network traffic to block LG's data collection.
- Be aware of potential audio recording even in standby mode.
- Consider using non-smart displays to avoid privacy issues.
How It Works
LG TVs use Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) to analyze what users are watching by capturing screen images and audio. This data is sent to LG's servers for targeted advertising, often without user consent.
